Variation Garter Stitch Bookmark with Ribbon
Work Garter Stitch Bookmark, above.
Using a tapestry needle and about 20 inches of 1/8 inch wide ribbon, thread a strand of ribbon through every second row on the right of the bookmark. Leave about a 5 inch tail on either end. Repeat on left side of bookmark with a second piece of ribbon.
If you like, tie each end of both ribbons to the top and bottom edges of the bookmark, to stop the ribbon from sliding. Then you can tie the top two tails in a knot or bow.
