A little holiday yarn is coming

A little holiday yarn is coming

I have a new free pattern in the works for a simple infinity scarf. The infinity scarf seems to be de rigueur this season, and so of course tricksy knitters are getting in on the fun. And unlike the store-bought variety, the hand-knit, ribbed, infinity scarf can be grafted rather than clumsily seamed. Knitters for the win!

The pattern is coming very soon. And Boiseau is up next too.

And to celebrate December, I visited Judy Maclean's sweatermaker yarns studio. We always have a little show and tell; she has some beautiful handwoven throws in boucle mohair and silk, if my phone took decent pictures, I'll share. And I got to see some of the yarn she's testing: 100% silk, heavy lace weight. Very sexy.

Of course, I couldn't leave without stocking up on a little more Maggie in 50% silk 50% cashmere. Got two brand new colours, they will be on offer soon. This light fingering weight yarn is fantastic. Here's a little snapshot of one of the new colours, a lovely blue that is somewhere between violet and indigo on the colour wheel.

Two skeins of Maggie will make a shawl (like Arimono) or an infinity scarf (like the new pattern that's coming soon).
