Fluttery Ruffle
By Megan Goodacre
This example of a top down knitted ruffle is more subtle than the basic version where you increase across one or two rows. But it does require a little more planning, and it helps to have a knitting chart. This type of ruffle is used in Miriam Felton's Flutter Scarf, one of my favorite scarves. For detailed instructions, and chart, check out the pattern on Ravelry.
