Wrapping a small gift
By Megan Goodacre

Here's an easy way to wrap a small gift, like these knit baby bootees. Minimal, not fussy, suitable for a hand made gift. You'll need a letter-size piece of card stock or paper, a little bit of tissue, and a piece of ribbon.
Make an origami box as a base to hold the gift.
Place a couple of strips of tissue across the box. The strips should be the width of the box.
Tuck the gift in.

Fold the tissue over and tuck it in around the edges. Tie everything up with a ribbon. You could make an origami lid too, of course. I like the simplicity of minimal packaging with less paper.
If it's a hand knit gift, include some simple care instructions. Since you cut down the letter-size sheet, you'll have a scrap leftover from that!

- For this square box, I took a 8.5 x 11 sheet of thin cream-coloured card stock, cut it down it 8.5 x 8.5, and folded it using these origami box instructions. The finished box is about 2 1/8 square at the base.
- For a rectangular box, you can follow these origami box instructions.
